If it were up to Mayor Halsema, mouth masks will become part of everyday life in the city. And Prime Minister Mark Rutte also said on Wednesday that there is an urgent advice for the whole of the Netherlands to wear mouth masks in the public interior space. But where in Amsterdam are they compulsory, where are they advised and where are they not needed? An overview. Is a location missing? Tip us via Whatsapp.
“Too strict!” “Too vague”, “Unfree.” Amsterdammers are divided on the measures announced on Monday evening. In addition to the harsh measures, there was also an “urgent advice”. Mayor Halsema and Prime Minister Mark Rutte want face masks to be worn in all publicly accessible indoor spaces. Think of shops, but also for catering establishments, museums, libraries and government buildings. There is no obligation imposed by the government, it is up to institutions to make their own decisions.
