Tim Douwsma (32), one of the driving forces behind the controversial # Ikdoenietmeermee campaign, thinks that the activists should have used a different hashtag. He confessed that on Tuesday in RTL Boulevard.
“The hashtag was not well chosen,” said the singer. “That was not what we meant. I am just critical. We have a lot of questions. And we do not deny corona.” The action turned out to be an initiative on Tuesday by Willem Engels of the Virus Truth action group, who is questioning the measures taken by the government to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
The Frisian is pleased that there has been so much commotion about the initiative. “Critical doctors and scientists and people in healthcare are happy with what we say,” said Tim. “There are many questions. And critical voices are not heard.”
The actor was harshly attacked by science journalist Diederik Jekel. “You argue that social distancing does not work to prevent infections,” he said. “You only have to google it once to see that it is not. It is factually incorrect what you say. There is only one percent of people who question that.” According to Tim, it is very important that that one percent is also heard.
