The number of mortgage applications rose sharply from August 2019. Despite the corona crisis, a record number of applications were even made in the second quarter of 2020.
This growth leveled off somewhat in the third quarter. Nevertheless, the number of applications this quarter is still above the 2019 average (107,519).
The lion’s share of applications were for the purchase of a home, while a smaller proportion concerned refinancing or a second mortgage.
Most mortgage applications were made successively in the provinces of South Holland, North Holland and North Brabant.
