The anniversary season of ‘Wie is de Mol? continues to score. More than 2.4 million viewers were back on the edge of their seats last night for the third episode, which ended with a considerable cliffhanger to the great dissatisfaction of many Molloten.
As always, it’s time for the test and execution towards the end of the broadcast. One by one, presenter Rik van de Westelaken examines the candidates and the green screens fly around our ears. It is striking that those who advance to the next episode must immediately pack their things and be taken to the next location.
So it is that Patrick Martens, Ron Boszhard and Horace Cohen are left with the three of them at the end. But instead of seeing how the elimination unfolds, we see Patrick and Ron join the rest of the group.
Although a little later it is shown that Horace actually gets a red screen, loyal fans of the program do not trust it. Especially since the episode ends with the remaining candidates who are all driven in different directions with the text ‘to be continued’. Molloten know for sure: Horace will be back next week.
The execution is another nice mind fuck. For a moment I thought Horace’s exit was fake, because it’s edited a bit strangely. The fact that I have lost points in the app proves otherwise. Or…? And also wonderful that the candidates went in different directions! #widm
ah Horace doesn’t have to go home alone I guess 🙄 # widm
We’re not really crazy #Henkie. next week #Horace will be back. However? #widm pic.twitter.com/BI4u8aQGlf
Horace is still my mole, this was just a fake out #widm
This was the strangest ending ever in an episode. It also felt like acting. Would Horace come back? Rick said one of you is not coming. Not: 1 of you is going home. I am confused. 🤣🤷🏻♀️ #widm
Hmmmm I’ve never seen that, to be continued at the end of #widm. #moltalk Would Horace still …
The website of Wie is de Mol? suggests otherwise, because like every week the diary of the dropout can be read there. “It’s really over”, you can read there. “After saying goodbye, which was even worse than normal for me because a large part of the group had already left and I could only say goodbye to two fellow players, it all becomes a bit too much for me, a dry throat, tears are about to burst. and the disappointment and anger slowly start to take over my whole body and thoughts (…) Those voices are so present that I don’t even wonder where it went wrong, it makes no sense, it’s really over. ”
Last season Rob Dekay was revealed as Mol by Buddy Vedder. But as a WIDM winner, what do you actually do with the amount of money won?
