RIVM reports 9182 new infections in the last 24 hours

The RIVM also says that weekly figures provide a more reliable picture of the spread of the virus. In the past seven days, an average of 7,594 people a day have been tested positive. In total, that was about 53,000 people last week, against just over 35,000 the week before.

The number of corona patients treated in hospitals has increased by 42 compared to the day before, in total there are now 1,723. The National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution reports this. Of these, 1242 people are in the nursing wards, 33 more than the day before. There are 481 corona patients on the ICs, nine more than the day before. There are also 510 patients on ICs with non-corona-related complaints, 37 fewer than the day before.

The total IC occupancy is 991, which is 28 less than a day ago. Nursing units have admitted 247 corona patients in the past 24 hours, intensive care 37. In the past 24 hours, fourteen patients have been relocated between regions, three of which are ICU patients.

The number of deaths increased by 53. This does not mean that all these people died last 24 hours, deaths are sometimes reported later. 65 deaths were recorded on Friday.

In the Amsterdam region, 494 new infections were reported in 24 hours. On Friday, there were 568 and on Thursday, 501 new infections were added in the region.
