Supermarket chain Jumbo is negotiating with real estate fund Annexum about the purchase of 62 retail properties. That writes Het Financieele Dagblad (FD) Sunday. Jumbo would like to sell the properties and then rent them again. The sale would cost about 300 million euros. Most of the properties for sale, 55 units, are old C1000 establishments. The premises came into the hands of Jumbo in 2012 when the second largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands took over C1000. The other seven properties that may be sold are currently let to other retail formulas. The sale of the stores may be related to the acquisition of HEMA. The Van Eerd family, owner of Jumbo, together with investment company Parcom, is investing 150 million euros in the typically Dutch retail chain, FD reported last week.
