The gold transport is carried out together with the military, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee and the police. The move was prompted by the renovation of the De Nederlandsche Bank’s head office on Frederiksplein.
With the renovation, it was decided to eventually move the gold and banknote business to a new location to be built in Zeist, the DNB Cash Center, which is expected to be completed in 2023. Until then, the former money printing company Joh. Enschedé in Haarlem is the storage place.
For security reasons, it is not disclosed which roads will be closed for transport.
