Grab your invisibility cloak and the butterbeer, because it promises to be a magical weekend. Netflix surprises its subscribers with one of the newest additions to the Harry Potter universe: ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’.
These Fantasic Beasts films can be seen as precursors to the well-known Harry Potter films and follow the story of Newt Scamander, a researcher of magical creatures. With this second part of the series, fans get a glimpse into the past of Dumbledore (Jude Law) and his arch-rival Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), who is often talked about in the books.
Although the film gives an extra dimension to the Harry Potter universe, the film was not received very enthusiastically. For example, the story and especially the ending was not appreciated by all Potterheads. The expectation is that the third part, which recently went back into full production, will make up for a lot. Anyone who thought that the Fantastic Beasts story is almost over will be disappointed. Besides the third part, parts four and five have already been announced.
