“A second lockdown is imminent, with draconian consequences for entrepreneurs, employees and the economy. If our behavior does not change, it will be incredibly difficult to prevent that,” write VNO-NCW chairman Ingrid Thijssen and MKB-Nederland chairman. Jacco Vonhof in the letter.
According to the business organizations, companies can play an important role in changing that behavior, for example by drawing attention in shops and companies to keeping a distance. “Because we notice that attention has been weakening, we call on everyone to pay attention to this again and visibly and to strictly observe the protocols.”
Furthermore, the business organizations again call for people to work from home as much as possible and for employees not to come to work with complaints.
On Friday, Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced that corona measures will be tightened in another eight security regions due to the advancing corona virus. Minister Hugo de Jonge (Public Health) warned last week that the Netherlands is on the eve of a second wave.
