A car was shot at on Saturday afternoon on Vechtstraat in the South Holland municipality of Ridderkerk. One of the victims has died. The other victim was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital, police reported on Twitter. A 33-year-old man and 32-year-old woman from Rotterdam have been arrested for possible involvement in the shooting.

The shooting was on Saturday at around 3.15 pm in a parking lot at a supermarket on Vechtstraat. The car with the seriously injured victims was found a short time later on the Oostdijk in Rotterdam. “So we think that the injured victims are still driving, but whether that is really the case, must be shown by police investigation,” said a police spokesman.
Resuscitation of one of the victims was of no avail: he died a short time later from his injuries. The seriously injured victim was rushed to hospital.
It is not yet known what caused the incident. It is also not yet clear what the relationship was between the suspects and the victims.
