Kaat and Maarten do the unimaginable: buy a house without having seen it. With just one signature, they give the Buy Without Watching team permission to make all decisions for them. And not without danger …
Kaat and Maarten rent a modest apartment together in the busy center of Rotterdam, but in this phase of their lives they need space and tranquility. Preferably in the center of Breda, but the search for a new home is anything but rosy. That is why they take the fierce decision to completely hand over the search, purchase and renovation of their new home to Martijn Krabbé and his team. And there is a hurry, because the couple has another news: they are pregnant!
When they drive past potential houses in Breda, Kaat and Maarten do not know what they are experiencing. They love everything they encounter along the way, but the first house on the route has a special place in their hearts – not knowing they just bought that house. When the presenter brings them the news a few days later, they radiate with happiness. The parents-to-be cannot believe this gem is theirs. “We have been working on this for so long and if you walk into such a house … that this is yours, is very strange”, Maarten tells emotionally. “I think the realization is falling a bit now (…) This is really our dream house.”
But their happiness soon turns into a slight panic. More than 30,000 euros above the asking price has been offered, and they had not expected that. Because how much is left for the renovation? Enough for at least a new kitchen, bathroom and floor.
The result is therefore above expectations. “I would not have dared to dream that”, Kaat says. “Everything is just right (…) This has been a really good choice.”
