André Hazes senior will posthumously receive a wax statue in Madame Tussauds Amsterdam, the wax museum announced on Thursday, the day after his death.
Hazes, who died in 2004 at the age of 53, gets a place in the bar where Madame Tussauds guests traditionally drink their last round. The Amsterdam folk singer was known to drink a lot of alcohol.
The wax figure of Hazes can be seen in the museum from 8 October. He will soon be joined by his son André Hazes junior.
Hazes made his debut in 1976 with the song Eenzame Kerst and became one of the greatest folk singers in Dutch music history. With among others She believes in me, Little boy and Blood, sweat and tears he scored several hits.
Madame Tussauds Amsterdam features wax figures of dozens of national and international celebrities.
