Employees of the webwarenhuis are dissatisfied with the impact of a planned reorganization and lay down their work.
Wehkamp employees started a strike. The shop was trade union FNV until Monday afternoon time with a better social plan to come for the 82 employees who lose their jobs in reorganization. The two sides have not reached agreement. Employees of the distribution of the Betuwe Maurik therefore have stopped work.
Earlier, the British chief of Wehkamp already announced the reorganization. He wants to close and sell the distribution center in Maurik. The reorganization affects not only people there, but also at the head office and distribution center in Zwolle.
The strike demanding union FNV better pay and better compensation for guidance from job to job and education. “So laid-off workers are more likely to find work again,” said FNV director Ali Aklalouch.
The union says that employees in the coming days from its headquarters in Zwolle also resign their jobs. The expectation is that suppliers Wehkamp – such as BCC and Beter Bed – nuisance to be affected by the strikes.
