KLM staff must do their part to rescue the airline. The people who earn the most, the pilots must also return the most. But how many pilots actually earn and what do they later left?
The government spends 3.4 billion aid package for KLM. KLM employees who earn more than three times the average income is asked to deliver at least 20 percent of their salary.
This means in practice that workers who earn more than 110,000 euros per year, 20 percent should return their wages. Employees who earn less will be asked to deliver a smaller percentage.
Average earns a pilot with KLM between 100,000 and 150,000 euros per year, but that rises up to 250,000 euros per year, says the company. This KLM pilots are among the best paid in Europe. At cost carriers like Ryanair and Easyjet pilots earn a lot less.
A spokesman for pilots union VNV adds that most pilots are co-pilots, with an average annual salary of 112,000 euros per year.
The average KLM pilot is therefore asked to between 20,000 and 30,000 euros to deliver, then they still between 2.2 and 3.3 times the average income over. The highest-paid pilots would get paid less 50,000, they would then keep still 5.5 times the average income.
When asked how many colleagues at Air France will make a spokesman for Air France-KLM little lost. It is difficult to compare, because with Air France there is a variable remuneration, which depends on the number of hours pilots fly.
The last time the salaries so drastsich deteriorated, often up to 20 percent, says the spokesman.
Air France earn nearly 100 of the total of more than 2800 pilots more than three tonnes per year, the French newspaper Libération wrote eighteen months ago. 30 percent would get more than two tons.
Vorg year February Air France pilots have received a pay increase of 4.3 percent.
Even when other airlines are prompted staff salary returning. British Airways is about 20 per cent of the employees with the longest service.
Lufthansa yesterday was rescued by the government. In addition, no specific requirements set by the government employees to deliver to paycheck. Earlier, there was talk of pilots two years would return for 45 percent of their salary in exchange for aid.
