Police monitored drug factory in Zeewolde

Police in Zeewolde monitors drug factory Ace Pharmaceuticals. The company would make a drug that can inhibit the coronavirus.

“There is a suspicious situation at the property,” said a police spokesman from Yahoo! News. “Therefore, increased alertness and we have a visible presence in police cars.”

The spokesman could not say what it is suspicious situation, but they have been present since this morning with several cars.

According Broadcasting Flevoland the company would make the drug chloroquine, which can suppress the pathogenic effects of the coronavirus. The drug is therefore included in the preliminary treatment of the RIVM.

Chloroquine was originally developed against malaria. Meanwhile, the drug is tested on a number of corona patients in China. They snapped up faster than patients who did not receive the drug.
