Fellaini Friday traveled from Dubai to China, because the intention is to launch the Chinese Super League mid-April.

The midfielder, who moved last January from Manchester United to Shandong Luneng, was tested immediately upon arrival medical and appears infected with COVID-19 virus.

The 87 international caps for Belgium had anyway fortnight in quarantine. This rule applies to everyone who returns from abroad in China. Shandong Luneng hope in two weeks to start training again.

The outbreak of coronavirus began in China, but Fellaini is only the first player from a club in the Chinese Super League which has tested positive for the virus. The main Chinese football would actually start on 22nd February.

“I want the fans and club medical staff for their care and support,” writes Fellaini on Twitter. “I hope to return again as soon as possible on the field.”
